i was triying to get this kind of effect for long time, many ppl suggested various plugins for it but could not find any plugin to get what i want.....
at last i used photoshop only to make it !!!
i started with few lins and went on adding different filters(default ones) like wave, distort etc till the time i get the desired image, the i used dodge and burn tool to get the depth, then some brightnes-contrust and colour balance manipulation and that's it!

Nice effect, you can create images like that pretty easy if you use a program called Apophisis. It makes line art based on Equations.
